Spring is proud to support the following charities:
MensLine Australia is a free telephone, video and online support, information and referral service for men with family and relationship concerns. This unique, dedicated service for men is available from anywhere in Australia, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is staffed by professional counsellors experienced in men’s issues.
MensLine Australia offers:
- A safe and private place for men to talk about their concerns
- Confidential, anonymous and non-judgmental support
- Coaching and practical strategies for managing their issues
- Relevant information and links to other appropriate services and programs as required
- Online discussion forum
- Comprehensive website with information, tip sheets and other resources.
While MensLine specialises in relationship concerns, men can also contact the service about other issues including grief and loss, loneliness, mental illness, and parenting. This year MensLine celebrates its 15th birthday.
MensLine is provided by On the Line, who have been a long-time charity partner of Spring Fitness.
Suicide Call Back Service
The Suicide Call Back Service is a 24-hour, nationwide service that provides free telephone, video and online counselling to people 15 years and older who are affected by suicide. This includes:
- People feeling suicidal
- People worried about someone else at risk of suicide
- People bereaved by suicide
- Health professionals supporting people affected by suicide.
Immediate support is available through a 24/7 telephone counselling line, and callers may also be eligible for up to six additional counselling sessions (by appointment) with the same counsellor. Clients can also access confidential online and video counselling through the Suicide Call Back Service website. This service is delivered by On the Line, who have been helping vulnerable Australians by providing vital counselling services for nearly 60 years. The Butterfly Foundation
The Butterfly Foundation is a national organisation that offers support for all people affected by an eating disorder and body image concerns. Along with their support services, such as the National Helpline, an Intensive Outpatient Program, an adolescent day program and regular support groups, they also run education programs across the country for young people, parents and professionals on building positive body image and self-esteem.
As well as being a leading national voice in supporting those impacted by eating disorders, Butterfly highlights the realities of seeking treatment for recovery, and advocates for improved services from both government and independent sources. The foundation is dedicated to changing the culture, policy and practice in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders and to raising awareness of eating disorders as a serious social, medical and mental health issue. WayAhead Workplaces is a program of WayAhead – Mental Health Association, a health promoting charity. They provide ongoing information, support and networking for any organisation wanting to support the health and wellbeing of their employees. They connect with members via quarterly meetings in Sydney and Brisbane where they provide expert speakers presenting on a range of workplace health and wellbeing topics. Network benefits include an eNewsletter, conference discounts and an extensive online resources library to help members to do their jobs well. Membership is open to any job type involved with employee health and includes legal and accounting firms, universities, government, health and community sectors. Find out more.
